How to type Spanish characters on Chromebook
Step-by-step: type ñ, accented vowels, ü, ¿, and ¡ on Chromebook. Quick reference for Spanish students.
How to type them
- Open Settings → Device → Keyboard → Change input settings and add “US International” or “Spanish”.
- With US International, type accent dead keys (often AltGr + quote) then the vowel, or use the Spanish layout where ñ has its own key.
- Fallback: Ctrl + Shift + U, type the Unicode (e.g. 00f1 for ñ), then Enter.
Tip: US International: Right Alt (AltGr) + n gives ñ; AltGr + punctuation often matches desktop international layouts. Exact keys vary slightly by input method.
