Grammar spotlight
Estar pairs naturally with adjectives that describe mood, health, or readiness: Estoy cansado, Estamos contentos. Ser + adjective tends toward more stable traits (Es inteligente), though some adjectives allow both with a meaning shift (aburrido: bored vs. boring).
Regular -ar verbs keep the stem and add -o, -as, -a, -amos, -áis, -an. Regular -er verbs use -o, -es, -e, -emos, -éis, -en. Irregulars like ser, estar, ir, and tener are introduced gradually — always check the lesson for the exact form.
Information questions place the question word first: ¿Qué estudias? ¿Dónde vives? Yes/no questions often use rising intonation without rearranging the subject and verb: ¿Hablas español?
